Abigail L. Caswell, DNP, CRNA received her Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia in 2009 and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice-Nurse Anesthesia in 2015. Dr. Caswell is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in the School of Allied Health Sciences, Doctor of Nursing Practice-Nurse Anesthesia Program at Baylor College of Medicine. She practices clinically at Ben Taub Hospital, a level 1 trauma center and high-risk obstetrics facility in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Caswell has been an active member of her state association since beginning her nurse anesthesia education. She has served on numerous committees since 2006 and has been on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetists (TxANA) since 2016. Dr. Caswell currently holds the position of TxANA Secretary/Treasurer and chairs the TxANA Finance Committee.
Adam C. Smith MSN, CRNA, spent close to four years as a University of North Carolina (UNC) Chapel Hill nurse in the Surgery/Trauma ICU where his interest in clinical ethics developed, specifically issues surrounding informed consent, preference of patients, futility disputes, family dynamics, DNR orders and interdisciplinary healthcare team communication with patients and families. After completing his nurse anesthesia training at Duke University in 2015, Adam joined the UNC Department of Anesthesiology as a CRNA.
